PAIRS Essentials teaches evidence-based, scientifically-validated skills for creating and sustaining relationships that are an ongoing source of love, pleasure, happiness and fulfillment for both partners, based on the centrality of bonding and a unique understanding of the logic of love and emotions. The goal of every PAIRS exercise and experience is to increase our capacity to create and sustain relationships in which we are able to consistently get our own needs for bonding met and meet the bonding needs of those with whom we choose to share our lives.

Experiential learning in PAIRS’ brief programs, such as the nine-hour, award-winning PAIRS Essentials program, delivers practical, immediately usable skills for improving interpersonal communication, understanding emotions in ourselves and others, navigating conflict and differences on behalf of the goals and dreams we most cherish, uncovering hidden expectations and assumptions that can otherwise sabotage close relationships, and learning to identify “emotional allergies” that may trigger strong reactions where we can unconsciously expect people in our lives today to make up for hurts, disappointments and other painful events from our past.

While PAIRS has been credited with saving thousands of marriages headed for divorce from the early eighties through the present, the focus of PAIRS is on human relationships. In many cases, those are relationships between spouses, domestic partners, parents and children (youth or adult), as well as co-workers and team members whose collaboration within visionary enterprises directly impacts client services and organizational success.

The skills participants learn in PAIRS will make a difference in any close relationship, including our relationships with ourselves as exercises offer the opportunity to better know and understand how the unique events of our lives impact feelings about ourselves and relationships with others.

PAIRS is available as a two-day retreat or six-week study for your church, small group, or business, or as an individual couple's experience. For more information, please contact Bob@soughtout.org or call the office at 757-631-0099.

Food Issues Group: Made to Crave

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Men & Women)

Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment? Made to Crave is the missing link between a person’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen.

Made to Crave will help you:
  • Break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today.
  • Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.
  • Replace rationalization that leads to diet failure with wisdom that leads to victory.
  • Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process

Soaking Prayer

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Men & Women)

This will be a group where we position ourselves before the Lord to express our love to Him. We will enter into His presence for two hours allowing Him to love us and speak to us as we quiet ourselves. This is a dedication of time saying, “Lord this time is just for you.” It’s also an invitation asking the Lord, “What do you want to do in me?”

It’s the Psalm 23 experience of allowing Him to lead us by still waters as we quiet ourselves before Him.

To apply, please complete application. For more info email Rachel@soughtout.org.

Listening Prayer

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Men & Women)

In this two hour group, we will learn to discern the voice of the Lord as we minister to one another in prayer, based on the principles used in Living Waters.

"We obey the Liberator and break shackles of despair and perversion; we impart to others a love that lives are transformed" from Listening to the Healing Word by Anne Armstrong.

Prophetic Development Group

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Men & Women)

In this group we will look at the  gift of prophecy: What is it?  Who has it?  Can you hear God's voice for yourself?

We will use The Beginner's Guide to the Gift of Prophecy, by Jack Deere. In this book, Deere describes the operation of the prophetic gift in the church today. He offers not only a balanced overview of the role of prophecy in the Christian community, but also practical information to help readers discern the authenticity of prophecies and learn to exercise the gift themselves. Topics covered include: learning how God speaks, understanding His messages, avoiding "prophetic craziness," giving prophetic messages, discerning deceptions, demons and false prophets, and growing in your prophetic gift.

Fantasy Fallacy Group

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Women)

Sexual and emotional fantasies tend to reveal certain areas of trauma, brokenness, and disillusionment that are yet to be healed.
Many people, including Christians, look to their sexual and emotional fantasies as a road map to where they can find the fulfillment they long for. However these fantasies aren't a reliable road map into the future, they are actually a rocky road map from the past.

Shannon Ethridge, best-selling Christian author, certified life coach, and advocate for healthy sexuality offers fascinating insights into common sexual thoughts such as:

  • dating a much older man or much younger woman
  • connecting with strangers via cyberspace
  • gay and lesbian fantasies
  • fascination with pleasure, pain, and power
Introduced in Genesis, God's design for sex, beyond procreation, is to offer connection and pleasure for marriage partners. But also in Genesis is an outline of seven sexual fallacies that bring discord, pain, and brokenness. The Fantasy Fallacy helps explain the basis for these fallacies and offers insights to help expose not only the meaning behind them, but ways to face them, heal from them, and find physical, emotional, and spiritual freedom.

God Image

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Men & Women)

Our view of and expectation for God's interactions with us are impacted by our experiences in life. Often the pain in our life clouds or distorts the lens with which we view God, therein missing parts of His character.

This group process explores in which specific ways our experiences have blocked our pathway to the Godhead. After discovery, we'll work at forgiving and moving toward the life-giving relationship for which we were created.

To apply, please complete application. Cost is $25 for the application fee and $25 each week. For more info, email Jennifer@soughtout.org.

The Journey

Date/time TBD, start date on hold until group forms! - runs for 10-12 weeks (Women Only; Individual care for Men available)

The Journey is a community of individuals who have all experienced betrayal and loss as a result of their spouses' struggle with life-dominating sexual sin. Journey meets weekly to give men and women an opportunity to grieve with others who identify with their pain, to begin breaking free from harmful and distorted patterns of thinking, to learn how to set boundaries that guard their hearts, thoughts and behaviors, and to allow God to use authentic relationships to heal and transform them from the inside out. To apply, please complete application. For more info email Rachel@soughtout.org.

Morph: Living Transformed

Thursdays 6:30-8:30PM, beginning April 11 - runs for 20 weeks (Men only)

Morph is a 20-week group for men who are struggling to break free from compulsive sexual behavior. Morph is a Christ-centered journey of transformation that examines in-depth the spiritual, emotional, relational, physiological, and behavioral aspects of sexual addiction. While most recovery programs focus on the problem, Morph focuses on the solution. Moving beyond simply eliminating unwanted behaviors, Morph equips participants to understand the factors and forces that motivate what you do.

This journey of transformation involves moving from...
Denial to Acknowledgement...
Avoidance to Responsibility...
Autonomy to Accountability...
Brokenness to Wholeness.

The only qualifications for participation is the desire to break free from bondage to out-of-control living and a willingness to do the weekly work.  The weekly meetings typically last for two hours. There is a  $25 registration fee, and the complete program costs $500 (payment can be made in installments of $25 per week. There is a 10% discount if paid in full before the start of the program).

To apply, please complete application. For more info email Rob@soughtout.org.

All of our group leaders and teachers are ministry professionals who have personally been through the healing journey themselves and hold advanced degrees.

Groups are for individuals age 18 or older.
