Beliefs

The ministry of Sought Out, Inc. holds to the following essential beliefs:

1. God's inspired Word found in the Holy Bible is the definitive source of guidelines for positive, constructive, and edifying relationships with each other and with God.
   

2. God created men and women to have equal, yet absolutely distinct and complimentary identities and roles, as described in the Bible.  Any deviation from those roles and identities undermines and distorts (poisons) the intended fellowship with God and one another.
   

3. Sexual brokenness is increasingly being recognized as more common place.  It is seen as limiting individuals in their ability to give and receive love in the way God originally intended.
   

4. The factors which produce a situation conducive to homosexual acts or a person receptive to homosexuality are often beyond that person's control, but the homosexual act is a conscious, volitional act of sin.  Albeit a sin, it is equally forgivable in God's redemptive plan as any other sin.
   

5. God is able to provide grace and strength to empower a person wanting to cease an addictive, self-defeating, or homosexual lifestyle and to restore that person to a right relationship with God, with others, and with one's own self.
   

6. God's desire is to use the community of believers to minister restoration and renewal to Christians seeing to renounce a homosexual lifestyle, sexual addiction, or find healing for sexual brokenness.
